Sengkang General Hospital (SKGH) is a new 1000-bed tertiary care hospital being built in the northeast of Singapore in Sengkang housing estate. SKGH is expected to be operational in 2018 serving the residents in Sengkang, Punggol, Hougang and a wider region extending to Yio Chu Kang and Pasir Ris.
Located in the town centre close to Sengkang MRT and Bus Interchange, the hospital will be connected to the Cheng Lim LRT Station (one stop from Sengkang MRT/LRT Interchange). The existing Sengkang Polyclinic is situated diagonally opposite SKGH's specialist clinics wing. Adjoining the general hospital will be Sengkang Community Hospital (SKCH), a 400-bed rehabilitative and non-acute hospital which can provide longer term palliative care. Both the general and community hospitals are being built at the same time as an integrated development. When ready, these new healthcare facilities will provide seamless healthcare for patients and residents in the wider community in the northeast.
